Seminar on February 25, 2026 "Key Aspects of the EU Space Law and Practical Guidance for Japanese Companies".(held by Joho Kiko)

We will be holding a seminar hosted by Joho Kiko.

This seminar will provide a systematic explanation of the key provisions of the EUSA, including its authorization and registration regimes, cybersecurity requirements, and enforcement and sanctions mechanisms, while also organizing the direction of practical responses required of Japanese companies in light of future legislative and policy developments.
In addition, the seminar will examine strategic approaches with a view to the Japanese government potentially applying to the European Commission for an equivalence decision under the EUSA. Drawing on Japan's precedent of obtaining an adequacy decision under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2019, it will analyze the prospects for mutual recognition and the associated policy benefits.
The seminar will also consider how, in the context of the European Commission's assessment for an equivalence decision under the EUSA, elements of Japan's compliance culture--such as transparent guideline implementation, adherence to industry standards, and risk-based accountability--may be evaluated, beyond a formal comparison of legal and regulatory frameworks.
